Sorry for being off topic, but I am just starting my website/blog. Why did you choose WordPress over blogger or any other blog program? I am trying to figure out the best way, since I am not a techy.

It’s fairly simple. I love it’s features and it’s easy to learn codebase. Developing a theme is relatively easy if you know PHP and it’s something I have always used.
Additionally it’s all open source and freely available on the web to install anywhere you like!
